Raiders Score 14 More In Win To Finish Spring Trip

AUBURNDALE, Fla. – Less than 24 hours after putting up 35 runs, MSOE baseball was back at it on the diamond and playing in their final game of the spring trip against Lesley. The Raiders offense was still hot, throwing 14 runs up on the scoreboard in an 11-run victory.

Lesley – 3
MSOE - 14

After a scoreless first inning, MSOE (6-3) found home plate four times to start the scoring in their game against Lesley (0-3). That once again would be more than enough runs to take home the win in retrospect, but the Raiders have been playing in the moment the whole trip. They scored four runs in the fourth and in the seventh as well before plating another two in the bottom of the eight to enact the mercy rule for the second straight game. Tyler Gronert was once again impressive on the bump, throwing six innings while striking out six. He ends the trip with 11 k's and a 3.46 earned run average. Seven different Raiders registered a least one run batted in as the Raiders will head home to Milwaukee with their heads held high and ready to keep on scoring runs at a torrid clip when play resumes in the north.

Hits – Chris Barnes & Josh Beier (3)
Runs Scored – Nick Stricker & Josh Beier (3)
RBIs – Micah Overley (3)
Stolen Bases – Brandon Beauchamp (2)
Strikeouts – Tyler Gronert (6)

The Raiders will now get a much deserved two weeks off before taking on Northland in their first ever game at MSOE Raiders Stadium. That contest will take place on Friday, March 20th at 5:00 pm.
