DUBUQUE, Iowa - MSOE women's basketball opened the season by going 2-2 in their first four games, including winning their last two straight. Unfortunately, the streak was put to an end in their first road contest of the season. Loras dominated all aspects of the game in their blowout win over the Raiders on Saturday afternoon.
MSOE – 30
Loras – 92
HOW IT HAPPENED
MSOE (2-3, 2-0 NACC) knew going into this afternoon's contest that they would have to play a perfect game in order to contend against a Loras (6-0, 1-0) team that hadn't been defeated all season. However, that perfect game was not meant to be. The Duhawks outpaced the Raiders 63-11 in the first half, and still outscored the Red & White 29-19 in a second half that consisted of mainly bench players. Loras went 35 of 65 from the field compared to the Raiders who made just 10 of their 47 attempts. MSOE was almost silent from three-point land as well, going just 1 of 17 from behind the arc. The Red & White also committed 29 turnovers and were outrebounded to the tune of 38-20 in their biggest loss of the season.
- Amy Reiser continued her streak of double-digit point games by scoring 11 this afternoon. She has scored at least 10 points in all five games this season.
WHO'S ON DECK
The Raiders will resume conference play on Tuesday, taking on Alverno on the road starting at 7:00 pm.
